Russell and Yo Zushi:

by jme

Hip Heaven hosted by John Clarke on Thursday was a wonderful mix of poetry and music.
Richard Russel (creativityeast.com) as warm up and plenty of other creative brains (whose websites we dontknow.com....) were well prepared for the monthly event in Bubblegum's basement in Deptford.

A real pleasure to listen to was Yo Zushi who enchanted the audience with 5 songs. The singer demonstrated the beautiful potential of his voice as a solo singer, but in their last song songwriter Russel, joining in from the audience, did not have to hide his voice either!

Poetry this night varied from ranting to humorous and more. Just a shame we had to go in the break, so we surely missed the (promising) band and other poets (neither whose names, nor whose websites we know...)

Line up included

Anthony Joseph & Spasm band (we missed them), Yo Zushi, Vali Stanley, The Racker, Graham Pollock, Jasmine Pender and...John Clarke

Keep it going John!
